This little guy’s grandma brought him to me for a quick mini session. She wanted to capture his larger that life smile as a gift for his mama. What a sweet little guy he was! So funny and well mannered!
Their connection as a family is so tangible. I wanted to just reach out and capture just a bit of it in a jar – that closeness, and strong bond that only a family who spends time laughing, playing and exploring together can truly experience. Though it’s important to capture those images where everyone is posed and looking at the camera and smiling, it’s so fulfilling to be able to capture these moments of joy!
A year ago this past April, I got to photograph a sweet little newborn girl with the cutest little rosebud lips you ever did see! Now she’s one! How’d that happen? I met up with the newest and greatest toddler girl and her family at Lewisville State Park for a tea party-esque first birthday session in the lush spring greenery. I love how she just dug right in to her cake. Little miss P had hot pink frosting plastered all over her sweet face by the time she was finished. Ahh, yes. A girl after my own heart. I mean, come on…who doesn’t like cake? And hot pink frosting? Oh yes.
When you think back on how your kids were when they were small, you will want to remember how they actually were, not just what they looked like. You’ll want to remember the crinkle in your daughter’s nose when she was really laughing…you know…that no-sound-coming-out-cannot-catch-your-breath belly laugh. You’ll want to remember your son’s dimples, or how your kids used to love to tickle fight, and the giggles that would erupt when they did. It’s all beautiful and worth remembering.
Wow, it’s been a long time since I have taken the time to blog! I saw Camden and his family back in February, just before Valentine’s Day and we took some portraits of the 6 month old heart breaker. I just love his impish grin!
Prepare yourself for some electric blue eyes. Ready? Are you sure? Oh wow, is this sweet boy amazingly cute or what? Yeah, and the whole family shares in the blue eye awesomeness. I might be a little jealous.
These two sisters had me hopping and dancing about in this beautiful field, chasing them around in the beautiful angel wings their mama (a fellow photographer) brought along. Between giggle fits, I couldn’t get over the sweetness that these two share. They are so connected, so loving, so polite and so much fun!
I have had the honor of photographing this family through two new additions to their family! It is amazingly special to me to be trusted to capture moments of laughter, silliness and love through different phases of a family. Plus, I get to see how big the kids have gotten, and that is just plain cool to witness!
